A red and white single-engine Piper taxiing on a runway

PNW Wings For Angels doesn’t have an aircraft in the air yet — we’re raising the funds to change that. Every dollar in our Founding Campaign goes toward acquiring, overhauling, and operating the aircraft that will fly our first missions.

Why a Piper Cherokee Six

  • Six seats. Room for a patient, a caregiver or family member, and the pilot — without leaving anyone behind.
  • A wide rear aft cabin door. No climbing onto the wing, no awkward high step-up — a patient who’s weak, recovering, or in pain can board with dignity, not gymnastics.
  • Club seating. Facing seats in the cabin mean a patient can travel with a companion across from them, not alone in a row — real comfort on what’s often a hard day.
  • Real useful load. Enough capacity to carry passengers, medical equipment, and fuel for genuine cross-region missions, not just short hops.
  • A proven airframe. Decades of operating history, a strong safety record, and a maintenance ecosystem that keeps a volunteer-flown aircraft affordable to keep airworthy.

What “acquisition” actually means

Buying the airframe is only step one. Our target aircraft needs an overhauled engine and updated avionics before it’s mission-ready — the difference between an airplane that flies and one that flies safely, reliably, mission after mission.

Where the funding goes

Every dollar toward Our Founding Campaign — whether it’s $25 for oil or $225 for a flight hour — builds toward this aircraft. Once it’s in service, this page becomes its story: tail number, hours flown, missions completed.
